Only the French could have made this stunning enamel and highly jeweled pendant.
The pendant is made of sterling and has a gold wash. It is heavily coated with a turquoise enamel that has gold beadwork and flowers. The center is decorative and holds more enamel and garnet cabochons. The edge of the pendant is encrusted with opals.
The pendant is hallmarked with the crab, which signifies the silver content and has the maker’s mark in a lozenge.
The pendant is 1” by ¾” wide and weighs 5.6 grams. It is in excellent vintage condition and has a warm, unpolished patina.
