Product Description

This is a sample of a very collectible sterling authentic Los Castillo hard to find angel pin, circa 1950, possibly earlier. Los Castillo, a world renown artist was a student of William Spratling as were many of the great Mexican artists.

This striking pin is one of the more rare Los Castillo pins. It depicts an angel with wings carrying to me, what looks like an amethyst sword, but is probably meant to be a flame or candle. The amethyst is brilliantly faceted.

The pin is completely signed on the back.

The pin measures 2 ½” tall by 7/8” wide. The amethyst, which has some cackling on it, is 7/8’ tall and weighs 12.4 grams. It is in very good vintage condition with a small amount of cackling on the amethyst and guaranteed to be authentic.
