Museum quality is rare in late Georgian jewelry and when you find such a piece, its a sight to behold!
Skill, technique and beauty combine together in a work of Georgian delight. This remarkable pin took expert workmanship and the fact that it is remarkably intact is astonishing. The hair has an intricate braided weaving and is quite flattering. It is set under a beveled crystal cover and has magnificent 2 ½ mm – 3mm authentic white pearls framing the edges. There is a thin layer of roped gold running around the pin.
The clasp is a “C” clasp and is nice and tight. And note, the pin extension that goes beyond the main body of the pin. It tests 14k.
The pin pendant measures approximately 1” high by 1¼” wide. It is in excellent vintage condition and guaranteed to be of the period.
